We spent three years perfecting the recipe. We chose 20 herbs, four of which grow close to Mariánské Lázně. Then we put it all in a beautiful apothecary bottle. The perfect souvenir with the taste of Mariánské Lázně.

Story
A smaller company focused on quality.
Maria Liquer did not come out of a marketing department. Behind it are three Mariánské Lázně locals — Štěpán Katina, Petr Vopálenský and David Folprecht — who felt something was missing: a thing a visitor could take home that actually belonged to the town. Something genuinely made here.
We spent three years refining the recipe with Václav Šitner, former president of the Czech Distillers Union and a man with nearly forty years in the trade, and with his daughter Barbora. It is produced at their distillery, Zámecký lihovar Blatná — in small batches, not in tankers.
A few thousand litres are made each year. That is the entire output. It means we know where every bottle goes, and we deliver it there ourselves.
We adapted the recipe to the mineral springs of Mariánské Lázně. By working herbs from the surrounding area into the liqueur, it gains its uniqueness.Václav Šitner, creator of the recipe
The recipe

Herbal liqueurs have always been made in the spa towns. We picked herbs that genuinely grow in the area and have been gathered here for generations — and built the flavour profile on them: a gentle sweetness upfront, a long bitter finish.
Taraxacum · root
Dandelion
A root with natural bitterness — the source of the bitter note in the finish.
Vaccinium · fruit
Cranberry
A fruit with pronounced tartness. It brings freshness and colour.
Radix gentianae · root
Gentian
A rare herb from the Žlutice area. The most pronounced bitter component of the whole blend — the one you remember.

How to serve
Chilled, or in cocktails.
Neat, it tastes best lightly chilled. As it isn't overly sweet, it works just as well as an aperitif before a meal as it does as a digestif. It also makes an excellent base for cocktails.
